Abstract
The Stamford Brook project set out to explore whether low carbon housing standards could be achieved in large commercial housing developments. Though the project exceeded Building Regulation requirements in force at the time, assessments have shown that heat loss, energy consumption and carbon emissions have been higher than design predictions for standard occupancy. Discusses the implications for domestic construction in the UK.
