Abstract

Provides fire design guidance for composite beams with large web openings, describing methodology and calculation procedures, looking at common failure modes of global bending at the mid span, at the openings, vertical shear and Vierendeel bending across the openings, and web post bending and buckling. Also determines the failure mode and critical temperature for design at elevated temperatures.
