Abstract
Provides practical advice for reducing sign clutter and aims to minimise the impact of traffic signs on the environment without compromising safety. Recommends regular auditing of traffic signs, traffic signals and road markings with a view to removing unlawful traffic signs. Also provides clarification for different types of signs, size, placement, mounting, lighting, the use of yellow backing boards and traffic signals. Includes case studies.
