Abstract
Intended to provide additional guidance material and essential design data suitable for environmental design in the Hong Kong context. Consists of 4 sections: Section 1 provides the statistic weather and solar data required for environmental design, based on an analysis of weather records from the Hong Kong Observatory; Section 2 supplements the thermal properties of building structures and elements commonly used in Hong Kong; Section 3 presents an application of the simple calculation techniques for air infiltration and natural ventilation; and Section 4 gives the tabulated cooling loads due to solar heat gains through glazing.
