Abstract
Cites Standard 2.1 on compartmentation and Standard 2.6 requiring the spread to neighbouring buildings to be inhibited in the Non-Domestic Technical Handbook as the areas over which there is doubt over compliance. Provides the technical context to explain how the issue has arisen and the key elements of the ministerial response, including interpretation of guidance.
