Abstract

Collates data obtained from various parts of Eurocode 3 (BS EN 1993) and their national annexes relating to general rules and rules for buildings, plated structural elements and design of joints. Covering dimensions of sections, section properties, tables for resistance, compression, tension, bending, resistance to transverse forces, axial force and bending and includes bolts and welds, section designations and steel grades.

Document History

Published in conjunction with BCSA. Logo and credits have been updated for Tata Steel Europe. Known as The Blue Book. Includes corrected values for pages C-128, C-129, D-128 and D-129. See also: SCI AD 368 (June 2012) which clarifies and provides further guidance for design shear resistance values given in this publication for I-Sections, under the tables for web bearing and buckling. Updated 2013 - additional bending resistances are presented for values of C1 that correspond to common design situations. The section range for hot finished hollow sections has been modified. The calculated bolt bearing resistances are based on the geometry quoted in the tables, not the nominal values.
