Abstract
Relates the risk of fire to heritage buildings and discusses the extent of the problem and looks at triggers to consider. Presents three case studies whose means of fire protection have included the installation of sprinkler systems: the National Library of Scotland, Corgarff Castle and Old Palace, Stirling Castle. Introduces standards for installation and stresses the type of system suited to heritage buildings. Advises on system design and installation.
