Abstract
Introduces good practice aspects for managing and providing routine and winter services on the trunk road network. This section deals with incident management, roles and responsibilities, definition of incidents, information and the media, communications, command and control, coordination, contingency planning, service requirements, debriefing, standards and requirements of service providers, temporary traffic management vehicles, incident support units: vehicles, livery, equipment, health and safety, hazardous waste, reporting and recording and investigation, managing and identifying canine fatalities, re-opening of running lanes following spillages and use of non-standard CCTV.
