Abstract
Establishes good practice for the use of safety glazing in buildings, looking at issues relating to glass breakage and falling, resisting persons falling when glass is used in protective barriers, or from the use of glass in floors and stairs. Other issues arising from manual attack, ballistic attack or explosion attack are also considered. Applies to safety glazing in buildings, shower enclosures, lift enclosures, but not in furniture, white goods or greenhouses (domestic or commercial). Looks at performance classification, safety glazing materials, special applications and design. Covers regulatory environments, marking and installation.
