Abstract
Gives guidance on facilities for emergency care located within an accident and emergency department in an acute general hospital, which functions 24 hours per day, seven days per week, is consultant-led, and treats and cares for people of all ages. Includes general and specific design considerations in patient and support areas, and general functional design requirements and engineering services in detail.
