Abstract

For the preparation and implementation of Environmental management plans for major motorway and trunk road projects in England.

Superseded by LA 120 Environmental management plans (formerly IAN 183/14 Environmental management plans, IAN 183/16 (W) Environmental management plans). Revision 1 (HE, 2020). Interim Advice Notes (IANs) are issued by the Highways Agency from time to time. They contain specific Guidance, which shall only be used in connection with works on motorways and trunk roads in England, subject to any specific implementation instructions contained within an IAN. Whilst IANs must be read in conjunction with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) for the above works, and may incorporate amendments or additions to documents in these manuals, they are not part of the DMRB or MCHW. This IAN is relevant to projects relating to the construction and improvement of motorways and all purpose trunk roads, and should be used in conjunction with DMRB Volume 10 and DMRB Volume 11.
