Abstract
Comprises a letter for Heads of Planning in Scotland which relates to new consultation and notification requirements regarding certain types of planning application. The direction (included at Annex A) gives important new protection to historic battlefields and World Heritage Sites. It will also give planning authorities confidence that greater independent scrutiny will be given to proposals affecting land in their area.
