Abstract
Describes the main types of cladding for use on timber frame buildings, including self supporting types, such as brickwork and blockwork, and non self-supporting types, including render on metal lathing, tiles or slates, brick slips, sheet metal, and timber. Covers design requirements, addressing issues such as cavity barriers, differential movement, wall ties, lintels and cavity trays.
