Abstract
Comprises output from the Foresight future of cities project looking at the opportunities and challenges facing cities over the next 50 years. Specifically analyses the comparative economic performance of the UK’s main cities from 1981 to 2011 to determine how growth patterns have differed across cities. Looks at: city size; economic structure and degrees of specialisation; and productivity.
