Abstract

Argues that public engagement is critical to making infrastructure delivery successful in the UK. Looks at how infrastructure that delivers social benefit and moves the low carbon transition forward can be addressed, focusing on: strategic approach to infrastructure planning at national level, with a civil society advisory council; Spatial planning at combined authority level, informed by local infrastructure dialogues; and a new body to act as an impartial facilitator of public engagement.
