Abstract
Provides guidance on the design, adoption and use of Type C waterproofing (defined by BS 8102:2009) in below ground structures. Type C waterproofing is where the structure itself provides primary resistance against water penetration and incorporates a drained cavity within the basement structure. Groundwater seepage is collected in the cavity and either drained or pumped away.
