Abstract
Argues that large transport schemes do not always provide best value for money, looking at how smaller transport schemes can improve local transport networks and provide substantial economic benefits. Takes a case study approach, providing 10 in-depth case studies which aim to enhance understanding how and why small schemes can be particularly effective in achieving a range of economic and social goals.
