Abstract
Provides guidance of the requirements under the Historic Scotland Act 2014, when the new non-departmental public body, Historic Environment Scotland takes over the functions delivered by Historic Scotland and the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Scotland on 1 October 2015.

Historic Scotland was an executive agency of the Scottish Government from 1991 to 2015, responsible for safeguarding Scotland's built heritage, and promoting its understanding and enjoyment. Dissolved in March 2014, its functions were transferred to Historic Environment Scotland on 1st October 2015.
