Abstract

Presents the results of a monitoring of road surfaces that have been applied to the A46 between Sixhills and Widmerpool. The project monitored the skid resistance, friction and surface condition performance of each treatment. The six treatments monitored were bush hammering, longitudinal diamond grinding, fine milling, thin surface course system and cold applied surface course. Measurements were taken on all six surfaces over the period of 35 months in service.
