Abstract
Summarises the results of a workshop held to discuss the future of health and healthcare provision in UK cities. Explores changes in the sector over the last 50 years; worst case scenarios for the future of health and healthcare provision in cities; designing the future city of healthcare; and policy design. Concludes that healthy cities can be developed by adopting a holistic strategy to include high quality green space, high quality public spaces, making cycling and walking easy.
