Research project to investigate occupier influence on indoor air quality in dwellings
Publication Year
2014
Document Status
Current
Abstract
Current guidance provided in the Domestic Technical Handbook for natural ventilation and air-tightness does not take into account occupant behaviour in terms of adequate ventilation rates needed for indoor air quality, thermal comfort and energy use. Explains that air tightness is met but that occupant manipulation of natural ventilation is not. Looks at possible solutions including simple and enhanced revisions to guidance.
