Abstract
Review of the current guidance offered as mitigation against rain penetration in wall construction in the Technical Handbooks. Assessing the fitness for purpose, taking into account current good practice and looking at short term changes to rainfall projections for climate change. Includes some suggested changes to the sketches and text used and recommends wider cavities for increasing energy performance.
