Provides guidance on specification writing for building conservation. This volume considers some of the approaches used by the National Trust at some of their sites with regard to the materials used for the external fabric. Part 1 covers conservation philosophy and principles, while part 2 comprises case studies covering building recording, masonry: brickwork and stonework, timber repairs, stone roof coverings and thatch. Contains a practical conservation management plan checklist.
