Abstract

For the selection of chimneys and flues for wood burning and multi fuel appliances. Covers chimney principles and looks at the different types and systems including stainless steel flexible liners, clay pumice and concrete liners, gas flue block systems and connecting flue pipes, birdguards and anti-downdraught terminals, chimney fans. Discusses flue design, insulation, position and bends in the chimney, connection, access for inspection, heights and termination, combustion air requirements, carbon monoxide alarms and CE designation, relining and fuel burning.
