Abstract
Advises on the requirements for the preparation and adoption of a local development plan (LDP) in Northern Ireland. Discusses soundness of an LDP, highlighting: the legislative context; tests of soundness for development plan documents; consideration of soundness in the preparation of a development plan document (DPD); criteria in meeting the tests of soundness; role of the Department for Infrastructure; and what happens if a DPD is found unsound.
