Abstract
Looks at offsite construction from the building and services engineer perspective in the context of suitable projects, highlighting the benefits and the challenges, the decision process and strategies to make it work. Provides case studies, glossary of offsite construction terms and looks at 10 tools which can help with decision making.

A trade organisation meeting the needs of building engineering services contractors involved with design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, control and management of engineering systems and services in buildings. It was established in 1904 as the National Association of Master Heating and Domestic Engineers and has been through a few name changes since, including: Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association (HVCA) and from 2012 it was the known as the Building and Engineering Services Association (BES).
