Introduces the various types of bridge expansion joints: buried, asphaltic plug, nosing, reinforced elastomeric, elastomeric in metal runners (cast-in or resin encapsulated), cantilever comb or tooth joint. Also details joint performance, selection, durability and whole life costing, water management, installation, inspection and maintenance.
