Abstract
Comprises one of a series of guides setting out the scope of opportunities for building high quality places particularly using garden city principles, highlighting key points for consideration in planning for growth and signposting to further detailed information. Specifically focuses on creating new places with high quality green infrastructure, setting out ten principles for success. Also includes case studies centred on: Cornwall's environmental growth strategy; Bicester's green infrastructure planning toolkit; Edible Ebbsfleet; accommodating street trees in heavily used urban areas - Goldhawk Road, Hammersmith; incorporating biodiversity in new developments - Kingsbrook, Aylesbury; and smart green roofs on office buildings - Zuidas, Amsterdam.
