Abstract
Presents the Government's response to the November 2016 consultation seeking views on changing SAP and RdSAP to enable them to remain relevant to developments in research, innovation and technology. The updated SAP 10 (previously referred to in the consultation as SAP 2016) will include an updated methodology and is due to be published in 2018.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy resulted from a merger between the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) in July 2016. It has now been replaced by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), and Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
