Abstract
Summarises the main findings presented in the interim report of the Independent review led by Dame Judith Hackitt, commissioned by government following the Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017. The independent review looks at the building and fire safety regulatory system for high-rise residential buildings and determines it is not presently fit-for-purpose. With the final report due in Spring 2018, the second phase of the review will cover regulation and guidance, roles and responsibilities, competence, process, compliance and enforcement, reporting processes for residents and quality assurance and products.
