Abstract
Cellular blocks provide the same or similar performance characteristics as solid blocks but with the significant advantage of having lower unit weight. Gives general guidance on the use of aggregate concrete blocks for the construction of external walls. Looks at different types, application and site considerations.

In 1999, the Concrete Block Association replaced the Aggregate Concrete Block Association as the trade body for manufacturers of aggregate concrete building block in Great Britain. The CBA publish data sheets and technical guidance on many typical block applications.
