Abstract
Provides updated guidance to Building Standards Managers in relation to the results of fire door tests conducted by Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) revealing that 5 out of 6 doors tested had failed. Clarifies that test evidence for exposure to fire for both sides of the door is needed to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of Section 2 - Fire in the Technical Handbooks. This update further clarifies that the fire door tests were conducted on 30 minute composite fire doors and indicates there are plans to extend the tests to the wider fire door market. Includes recommended actions.
