Publication Year

Abstract
Provides clarification regarding implementing nearly zero energy buildings as part of Regulation 25B in the Building Regulations 2010 for new public buildings. Applicable to buildings and building work in England. The requirements were introduced in 2012 to accommodate the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and would be applied to new buildings occupied by public authorities from 1 January 2019, or for all other buildings from 31 December 2020. The existing Building Regulations guidance, along with other Government procurement polices are suitable for demonstrating compliance with the nearly zero energy buildings requirement.
