Abstract
Presents the next stage of the December 2018 government implementation plan on the recommendations outlined in Dame Judith Hackitt's Independent review of building regulations and fire safety. This consultation seeks views for significant changes to the building and fire safety system. Focussing on regime change; the creation of a Dutyholder with responsibilities through building design, construction and operation; making sure residents are heard; establishing a new building safety regulator and regime; and strong enforcement and sanctions to ensure compliance.
