Relevant to new and existing sites, this Scottish Health Technical Memorandum provides information relating to legal requirements, design implications, maintenance and operation of general and specialised ventilation in all types of healthcare premises.

Superseded by SHTM 03-01 Part A 'Specialised ventilation for healthcare premises. Part A: the concept, design, specification, installation and acceptance testing of healthcare ventilation systems. Interim version 3.0 - additional guidance related to COVID 19 to be added in an update in 2022' (HFS, 2022). SHTM 03-01 supersedes all previous versions of SHTM 2025 'Ventilation in healthcare premises'. Version 2 dated February 2014. SHTM 03-01 is made up of two parts, Part A and Part B. HTM 03-01 Part A was updated and amended by Health Facilities Scotland for use in NHSScotland as SHTM 03-01 Part A.
