Abstract
Provides specifications for using computer aided design (CAD) for Highways England projects. Covers methods for managing the production, distribution and quality of construction information using CAD systems. Looks at the information container and metadata, information exchange, model and drawing files, associated data, survey data and coordinate systems.

Supersedes IAN 184/16 Highways England data and CAD standard: instructions on naming conventions, file types and data structures for the delivery and transfer of CAD/BIM files to Highways England and its supply chain (HE, 2016).
