Abstract
Presents an annual report of findings relating to households from the English Housing Survey. Covers households and housing stock. Households - trends in tenure; demographic and economic characteristics; first time buyers; future buying expectations; rents; affordability; rent arrears; housing benefit; tenancy deposits; length of time in current accommodation and tenure; household moves; overcrowding and under-occupation; and well-being. Housing stock - stock profile; house condition; energy efficiency; smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

In April 2008 the English House Condition Survey was integrated with the Survey of English Housing to form the English Housing Survey (EHS). Previously published by the DCLG.
