Abstract

Provides updated guidance for the planning, design and construction of foul and surface water gravity sewers, lateral drains, pumping stations and rising mains to adoptable standards. The 2011 changes implemented a transfer of responsibility to water and sewerage companies for sewers connected to the public sewer system in England and Wales. Also provides the industry recommendations, civil engineering specification and the specification for pumping stations. Appendix C presents design and construction details for new foul sewers and lateral drains, new surface water drainage systems, pumping stations, civil engineering specification and mechanical and electrical specification for small pumping stations.
