Abstract
Provides guidance notes for the code content of the National model design code. There are 10 key characteristics listed in the National Design Guide for well-designed places: context, movement, nature, built form, identity, public space, use, homes and buildings, resources and lifespan. Each section includes examples and a checklist. The final section relates to community engagement and consultation, looking at tools and techniques, responsibilities, initial engagement, events and facilities, and measuring community support.
