Abstract

Outlines the new powers included in the Building Safety Bill and subsequent legislation in relation to addressing building regulations compliance issues. Focusing on the strengthened regulatory regime for high-rise residential buildings and higher-risk buildings. Details which building types are included and why, and the changes for residents. Also highlights the existing protections for those in buildings outside the scope, hinting at new requirements due for medium-rise buildings.
