Abstract

Supports Part L of Schedule 1 to the Building Regulations 2010, giving guidance for compliance with the Regulations for building work carried out in Wales. Deals with conservation of fuel and power for dwellings. Covers: the calculation of the target emissions rate, target primary energy rate, target fabric performance values and minimum energy efficiency rating; calculation of the dwelling CO2 emissions and primary energy; consideration of high-efficiency alternative systems; limiting heat losses and gains; fixed building services efficiencies and controls; system specific guidance; air permeability and pressure testing; commissioning; providing information; new elements in existing dwellings, including extensions; works to elements in existing dwellings; consequential improvements; and optional approaches for more design flexibility.
