Abstract
Describes methods for calculating adequate space separation, for fire protection purposes, between buildings. Several sections, including flame projection from windows, have been expanded. 2nd edition gives more methods of calculation and illustrative examples; updates the theoretical background; presents detailed analysis to the methods enabling users to create their own fire engineering software; uses new experimental data to ensure the assumptions used are valid for modern buildings; defines thermal radiation and associated terminology; and includes background to methods 1 and 2 from Approved Document B.
