Abstract
Provides guidance for complying with building regulations and applying the calculation methodology used for non-domestic buildings under standards 6.1 and 6.9 of the 2022 Non-domestic Technical Handbook. Indicates the main changes introduced with the 2022 NCM guide and looks at a notional building, detailing glazing types, building fabric, HVAC systems, auxiliary energy, lighting power density, then looks at the actual building and building fabric, lighting, energy, ventilation, shell buildings, modular and portable buildings and extensions to the insulation envelope. Also covers solar gains and energy performance certificates.

Version 1.0 - published June 2022 - Initial issue in support of the 2022 revision of section 6 (energy) of the Scottish building regulations. Version 1.1 - published August 2022 - Tables 7 and 8 and paragraph 72 updated to align efficiency of heating in HN notional building to match natural gas specification.
