Abstract
Discusses how the six key conservation principles for the sustainable management of the historic environment in Northern Ireland can be applied. Sets out the different types of changes impacting a heritage asset including: archaeological investigation, maintenance, repair, periodic fabric renewal, restoration, new work and alteration, explaining how the conservation principles can guide decision making for each change for the best conservation outcome.
