Abstract

Provides practical guidance for complying with building regulation requirements relating to: access to and use of buildings other than dwellings; to extensions; and to sanitary conveniences in extensions in buildings other than dwellings. With updates relating to changing places toilets and clarifications for deriving capacities in the buildings.

Replaced by consolidated version, 2015 with 2020 and 2024 amendments, published October 2024. The 2015 edition came into effect: 01/10/2015. Changes made by the 2020 amendment issued July 2020 and came effect on 01/01/2021. Changes made by the 2024 amendments, which will be incorporated into Approved Document M Volume 2 in due course, and will take effect on 1 October 2024 for use in England.
