Abstract
Provides guidance on biodiversity net gain (BNG) and how it applies to irreplaceable habitats. Covers: what irreplaceable habitats are; how BNG applies to development on irreplaceable habitats; what developers need to do - a) consider irreplaceable habitat at the design and planning application stage, b) calculate BNG when there are irreplaceable habitats; and c) record irreplaceable habitats in the biodiversity gain plan.
