Abstract
Gives a method of test to determine the resistance of bituminous materials to de-icing fluids such as solutions of acetate and formate. Correct apparatus, preparation of specimens and procedure should determine the surface tensile strength of asphalt after storage in de-icing fluid. Primarily intended as a test on asphalt to be used in airfields, but can be used for asphalt to be laid on roads or other paved areas.
