Abstract

Relates to the Keywall - Brick Slip Facade System, containing clay brick slips, mechanically secured and adhesively factory-bonded on to a calcium silicate board, supported on a steel sub-frame system secured to new and existing timber-frame, steel-frame, masonry or concrete buildings. It is for use as a non-structural cladding system, to provide a decorative façade over external walls, soffits, and on internal walls, without height restrictions, above the damp proof course (DPC). Key factors assessed mechanical resistance and stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment, safety and accessibility in use, protection against noise, energy economy and heat retention, sustainable use of natural resources, durability.
