Abstract

This series of updates covers the significant changes introduced in EN 1993‐1‐1 and EN 1994. The resistance rules for shear studs in EN 1994 and BS 5950 are based on push test results, which, while differing from performance in composite beams, provide a convenient method for comparing resistance, with EN 1994 addressing both stud failure and concrete failure around the stud.
