Abstract
Describes a barn conversion in an area of outstanding natural beauty, transforming a utilitarian agricultural structure into a modern holiday home while maintaining its industrial simplicity. Façade openings were resized to provide a human scale, reframing views where large agricultural entrances once stood. Sliding doors and curtains allow for adaptive privacy, making the space suitable for both large gatherings and intimate family use. A minimalist palette of white walls, Douglas fir, concrete, ceramics, and stainless steel balances warmth and industrial character. ISOtherm wool-backed curtains regulate temperature, enclosing spaces for cinema or yoga, enhancing both functionality and comfort.
